    Lesson Plan Contest Rules

    ANNENBERG CLASSROOM LESSON PLAN CONTEST RULES

    FALL SEMESTER CONTEST (entries due by December 1, 2008)

    ENTRY DETAILS:

    Lesson plans must focus on one of five specific subject areas:

    1. The Constitution
    2. Government
    3. Elections
    4. History
    5. Current Events and Issues

    Entries will be judged on clarity, usefulness, utilization of Annenberg Classroom resources, and appropriateness to subject area.

     

    PRIZES:

    • Five (5) First Place Winners - one from each of the five subject areas above - will receive $250 for the purpose of enriching his/her classroom, along with 10 books from the Annenberg Classroom library.
    • Two (2) Second Place Winners overall from any of the subject areas will receive $100 for the purpose of enriching his/her classroom, along with 10 books from the Annenberg Classroom library.

    In the event of a tie, duplicate prizes will be awarded.

    ELIGIBILITY AND CONTEST RULES:

    The contest is open to U.S. residents only. Void where prohibited or restricted by local, state, or federal law. All educators who register on www.AnnenbergClassroom.org are eligible to enter the Lesson Plan Contest. One entry per person per month. Lesson plan entries must be your own original work and must be submitted in English and in the format you would use in your classroom.

    Lessons must use Annenberg Classroom online resources and make reference to specific resources and pages on the AnnenbergClassroom.org website.

    All entries become the property of The Annenberg Public Policy Center ("APPC"). By entering this contest you assign to APPC your entire right, title, and interest in the submission, including the copyright. You acknowledge that APPC may, without limitation, edit, copy, and publish entries in any media for use by other educators. APPC grants you a non-exclusive license to use your entry for educational purposes. By entering this contest, you release The Annenberg Public Policy, its partners and respective directors, officers, employees, and agents from any and all liability with respect to the contest or the prizes. By entering this contest, you agree to allow the Annenberg Public Policy Center to publish your name and school in contest mailings and on the Annenberg Classroom website.

    To submit a lesson plan online, make sure you have read the ‘Eligibility and Contest Rules' and check the box. You will be asked to register with Annenberg Classroom, fill out the submission form, and upload your lesson plan. You will receive an email at the address you provide indicating that your lesson has been successfully submitted.

    To submit a lesson plan by mail, you must print a copy of the ‘Eligibility and Contest Rules' and sign it. Mail the signed copy, along with the lesson plan, and a cover letter with your name, school affiliation, mailing address, phone number, email address, and grade and subject that you teach. Send the completed materials to:
